The Brewers see something they like in Jordan Lyles.

Milwaukee likes the righty so much they brought him back for the second consecutive year. This time in exchange for Cody Ponce.

The Brewers announced the trade Monday.

Lyles has made 17 starts with the Pirates this season and put together a 5-7 record with a 5.26 ERA.

He will be familiar with Milwaukee after spending time with the Brewers last season, where they acquired him from the Padres.

Milwaukee is currently fighting for a playoff spot in a tight National League race.

The Brewers enter play Monday just one game back of the Cubs and Cardinals for first place in the NL Central.
