Jordan Spieth Disqualified from 2024 Genesis Invitational

At the Genesis Invitational 2024 held in Pacific Palisades, California, Jordan Spieth has been ruled out.

Spieth signed the wrong scorecard, which resulted in his disqualification following his 2-over 73 round on Friday.

After making a 4 on the par-3 fourth hole, which is 245 yards away, Spieth signed for a 3. He chipped in to within four feet after hitting his tee shot into the left rough, but he missed the par putt.

With a 5-under 66 on Thursday, the Texan got off to a solid start in the third major event of the year on the PGA Tour, putting himself right in the mix.

Not long after the Disqualification, Jordan Spieth shared a social media comment saying,

Spieth is presently rated No. 12 in the Official World Golf Rankings and has won 13 times on the PGA Tour in his career, the most recent being at the RBC Heritage in 2022. In his four appearances this season, he has finished in the top 10, twice, including last week’s T6 run at the WM Phoenix Open.

Speith took responsibility as he signed an incorrect scorecard stepped out of the scoring area and even mentioned how much he loved this tournament overall.

Spieth is the second competitor to withdraw from the competition. Tiger Woods began feeling flu-like symptoms Thursday night and withdrew on his seventh hole on Friday owing to illness. After being wheeled off the course, he received IV treatment in the clubhouse before heading off on his own.
